What do they do to ppl in the hospital who are dehidrated?

last night i was very dehidrated when i got home but i didn't go to the ER what do they do when your dehodrated??
Answer:
It depends on how severly you are dehydrated! If you have to go into the hospital, then they hook you up to IV and get you hydrated back up!! Pretty simple. But if you don't get to the hospital when you are severly dehydrated, you body starts breaking down using everything it can, possibly damaging your organs!!

they give you intravenous fluids the rehydrate you. they give you an IV basically and put saline with lactated ringers (vitamins) in your body so you don't die.
if you get dehydrated
they take you to the hospital
and they don't have you drink anything
they put a tube down your throat that puts water into you
just like a feeding tube
I.V. Drip = water + electrolytes (necessary salts and potassium)
hi, i'm prone to dehydration and go to the ER alot esp. if I've had the flu or a viral infection. They hook you up to an IV w/lactated rings and if necessary potassium along with other nutrients you may be lacking.it is really important to drink plenty of water or Propel/Gatoraid so you don't lose the nutrients your body needs to keep functioning. Going to the ER is no fun so take care of yourself.
They give you an I.V., until you are hydrated again. They say that a person can die quickly if dehydration is not treated.
