What do you do if you are fasting for a blood test and go on a glucose low? How do you not eat to bring out?

What do you eat, etc. I still need to take the test 12 hours later.
Answer:
the fasting is usually 8 hours. you can drink water thoughduring that fasting period . but not foods or juices. you can eat before the fasting time, for example, 10pm to am, can eat a regular dinner serving, then after that only water is allowed for that 8 hours, and then resume eating after they have taken enough amount of blood from you for the test
Are you insulin dependant? If not, it shouldn't be an issue to wait 12 hours. If you can't wait 12 hours without getting the shakes, go ahead and eat something, call your doctor's office in the morning and tell them what is going on. They will have do decide how they want to handle your tests, or if to try something different.
talk to your doc about it
if you are getting shaky or sweating or getting lightheaded you need to eat something now and perhaps put off the blod test for another day. Pay attention here. If you don't, you could end up having a major problem.
If your sugar is too low you need to eat and reschedule the test.
DO NOT drive with a low sugar and always treat a low sugar. waiting will get you nowhere except the ER in a COMA!
